Sun Chemical to Showcase Full Portfolio of Cosmetics Colorants and Effect Pigments at SCC Suppliers’ Day 2018

PARSIPPANY, N.J., USA – May 10, 2018 – Sun Chemical Performance Pigments will display its broad portfolio of cosmetic pigments, effects and dyes during the Society of Cosmetic Chemists (SCC) Suppliers’ Day 2018.
Visitors of booth #1032 will discover a wide portfolio of colorants that give cosmetic formulators the ability to define trends and deliver innovative color cosmetics, skin care and personal care products. Sun Chemical offers pigments that span the rainbow of colors as well as blacks, whites, metallic and pearlescents, while complying with regulatory standards.
Fundamentals of Using Colorants in Cosmetics and Personal Care Products
During the Suppliers’ Day program, Sun Chemical’s Kelly Dobos, a cosmetics technical manager at the Performance Pigments Division, will teach a class on the Fundamentals of Using Colorants in Cosmetics and Personal Care Products on Monday May 14th from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
During the class, Dobos will discuss how pigment selection is reliant on a complex set of decisions, such as the regulatory environment, cost, stability, and the chemical properties of each colorant. These factors all play an essential role in determining success in product development. The course will cover numerous other topics, including color theory, the regulatory environment and color quality control.
Newly Enhanced INTENZA® Effect Pigments Intensify Color Palettes
Guests who visit Sun Chemical's booth during the conference will learn about the enhanced INTENZA family of pearlescent effect pigments which are now created with only synthetic mica substrates. The combination of certified organic colorants with synthetic mica provides superior chroma, exceptional sparkle, and lower residual heavy metals compared to natural mica substrates.
"INTENZA pigments provide the bold color of organic pigments without the need for harsh milling or grinding, giving cosmetic chemists maximum flexibility in formulation," Dobos said. "The launch of INTENZA Purple Reign is perfectly timed to create color cosmetics that exemplify Pantone's 2018 color of the year, Ultra Violet."
SunSHINE® Pearlescent Pigments Help Formulations Sparkle and Shine
Designed to help cosmetic chemists formulate unique colors and effects, Sun Chemical's SunSHINE pearlescent pigments can make formulations sparkle and shine. The SunSHINE family of pure synthetic mica-based pearlescent pigments has a high degree of transparency, brilliant sparkle, and a broad range of particle sizes. This provides cosmetic chemists with the ability to create a wide array of color cosmetics with appearances that range from smooth, satin finishes to dramatic sparkling glitters.
